Aluminium doors — entrance and technical
Aluminium entrance doors combine rigidity (no “oil-canning” on large leaves), insulation and security — three qualities that are hard to reconcile in other materials for large, heavy leaves. What to look for
- Ud — for warm (entrance) doors, from 0.9 W/m²K
- Burglary resistance class — up to RC3
- Locking — multi-point, with cylinders protected against forcing and drilling
- Threshold — with a limited thermal bridge, with an option to sit flush with the floor
- Hinges and self-closers — matched to the leaf’s weight, so the door doesn’t sag over time
Entrance doors vs. technical doors
PROMOST manufactures doors in two basic construction variants, matched to the opening’s function:
- Entrance doors (warm) — profile with a thermal break, frame depth 75–90 mm, Ud from 0.9 W/m²K, multi-point locking. For main entrances in houses and residential buildings, where both insulation and security matter.
- Technical doors (cold) — without a thermal break, frame depth 50–65 mm, single-point locking, hardware for heavy, high-frequency use. For garages, technical rooms, entrance lobbies and interior partitions — where thermal insulation isn’t required and the priority is durability under intensive use.
Both variants are also available as fire-rated doors — with the same structural rigidity, complemented by the fire resistance (EI) required for escape routes.
Colour and finish
Like premium aluminium windows, doors are available in the full RAL palette, structural colours, and a bi-colour variant — a different colour outside and inside. It’s a practical solution for dark, sun-exposed façades: a colour matched to the façade outside, a lighter shade inside to limit the leaf’s heat gain.

Are aluminium entrance doors suitable for an energy-efficient house?
Yes — in the warm variant (with a thermal break), PROMOST entrance doors achieve Ud from 0.9 W/m²K, which fits energy-efficient building requirements. The key factor is choosing a threshold with a limited thermal bridge, since it usually determines the real insulation of the whole set.
What’s the difference between burglary resistance class RC2 and RC3?
RC2 and RC3 are burglary resistance classes under EN 1627 — they describe how long a door withstands an attempted break-in with typical tools. RC3 gives a higher level of protection (longer resistance time, reinforced hardware and inserts) and is the standard for entrance doors in single-family homes; RC2 is enough in less exposed locations.
Can an entrance door threshold be flush with the floor?
Yes, PROMOST offers low thresholds flush with the floor level — convenient for people with limited mobility and visually consistent with the flooring. This solution requires appropriate water drainage at the entrance, sized individually for the project.
